Scoliosis Screening -
Scoliosis is a sideways curving of the spine that often begins during childhood. Early detection in children will allow for straightening of the spine as the child grows. Unfortunately the most common treatment approach has been to wait and see how bad it gets leading to unsightly braces or eventually surgery. Our approach is to use specific spinal adjustments combined with corrective exercises. We have had excellent results with scoliosis cases in childhood , when the bones of the spine are still growing.

Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine; it is a spinal disorder, NOT a disease.  A variety of nerve and muscle disorders can produce scoliosis. Since there are no medication to treat scoliosis early detection is extremely important. Our doctors may deliver a series of gentle adjustments to prevent further malformation or alleviate some of the more debilitating aspects of scoliosis. If left untreated a scoliotic spine can progress into permanent bodily disfigurement along with compression of the internal organs. The sensible course to follow during a child’s growing years is a regular schedule of check ups by your Chiropractor.
